Goks Promise...

Well, on the same day I had it confirmed I was heading back to the Big Black Smoke to meet up with some  bloggers, and to meet Gok Wan himself, his 3rd collection got released in Sainsburys!

When his second collection got released, I was lucky enough to grab two pieces: a lovely dress and a versatile bolero tuxedo jacket.

Seeing the preview shots of the collection, two pieces stood out for me, the 50s full skirt, and the 50s dress. I hinted to my Mam which one I was after, and I was lucky enough that she took the hint!

I love this print, and the colour but unfortunately, the material is not as forgiving as the other Sainsburys 22 dresses I own. It is tight on the waist, bust and gaped under the arm. For £40, it just was not good enough to justify the spending.

It is a wonderful dress, cut really well (apart from under the arm), and maybe if I wasn't feeling under the weather, I might have considered it... It has already been returned. But that's okay, as I have now got an even nicer dress (photos have yet to be taken, so need to wait for that one guys!

On an unrelated note, health reasons dictated time away from the blog over the past couple of days, and maybe over the next couple as well.

Will keep you posted,

Much love my lovelies,

K x

    1. I wasn't in the best mindset trying it on, I'll be honest, but I didn't imagine the gaping underarms!

I much prefer the second dress I got this weekend ;)

  3. I tried it on as a lot of their stuff fits me as a 24 but I couldn't even get the back of this zipped up. It was as if I was trying a 14 on... and yes.. I did check the label!

I wasn't really impressed with the fit of the skirt or the dresses sadly.

    1. I think it is more down the material choice having NO stretch rather than anyything else. I also think that as more supermarkets are bringing out 24, they are not making their clothes any bigger, just changing the label on it!

  4. That dress is gorgeous! Such a pity about the fit :(. I did a review of the skirt, and yeah, the fabric really isn't strecthy at all. I do love the skirt though.. you should get one, if that's what you originally wanted too :)

I hope you're feeling better lovely.

    xx
