You Are Good Enough

It is a sad state of affairs when the term "You Are Good Enough" is a positive mantra. But it is. And it's a good one.

We are all more than good enough:

Our faces are different, our style is different, our lives are different, but we are all good enough.

Part of this idea was to identify a part of you that you love. I would have to say my face. It shows my feelings openly, it holds our eyes and so allows us to see beauty. It holds our mouth, so we can say beautiful things. And it holds our ears, which allows use to listen to the world around us.

The ink on my hand didn't wash off easily, so I ended up going to Brownies with this on my hand, and I had to explain why. And I realised that I wanted this on my hand every meeting, to remind them all that we're more than good enough.

Eyebrows make a face...

This is me, circa 2005 (probably at Nasty Fest in Leeds (at a guess!)

I was just getting to grips with the idea that as a natural blonde, I needed to draw on my face where eyebrows should be. They were pretty much just lines:

See, lines.

When I was finally introduced to brow sculpting, using a powder, it changed my face!

Yes my hair and glasses are different, but so are my BROWS!

Need convincing on why I do it?

This photo was taken in some poor light, I admit, but the difference between the eye brow / not the eye brow speaks for itself!

It's not that I don't have any, I do, they're just very very sparse. I know I'm lucky, and I'm very glad I don't need to pluck / wax them, but it does get a little frustrating when I accidentally do this:

I have used Benefit Eye Brow kit in the past, but since I received this from Birchbox, I have been converted:

It has a longer wear life than the Benefit counter part. Wearing glasses means I often have half of my brow on my glasses by the end of the day!! Mind, if i need a little extra help keeping my brows in place, I spray with hairspray!

I am an eyebrow raiser, and have a very very expressive face. It just isn't my face without some eyebrows to give it shape and structure. And this way, you can tell what I'm thinking, whether I want you to or not!!

Much love my lovelies,

Lippy lips!!

Oh, I'm not going to mention the day it is today: I think enough of us have mentioned that already today!

But, as a little treat to me on the weekend, I ordered a lovely little gift. I wasn't expecting for it to arrive this soon!

The effects:

Before lipstick (looking rough after work)

After lipstick (smile not provided with the tube!)

I went with the Rockette Red, knowing that my pale skin would need something with the 'blue' (I only know this because the website told me!!

So yes, Rockalily, you've rocked my twitter feed, and my lips! What else you going to rock??

Much love my lovelies,

K x
