Wear A Coat As Bright As Your Lipstick

I would like to take you beauts back in time, if I may?

Back to the awesome Plus North 3, in a land far far away (Leeds, but still), where I first encountered this lovely coat, and the saw how the sample size coat fit my dear friend Katie, just made it even more imperative that I owned it!

I was sent the coat by the ace PR team behind Ann Harvey, and it was just a case of finding a good day to wear it.

It's not a winter coat you see, it's an inbetweener kind of a coat. It's lined, which is awesome, but it's also very light weight otherwise.

I first wore it to the wedding rehearsal way back in December:

But felt the cold very much as I was rushing around Durham, so it got shelved a little bit until one of the North East's warmer days last month:

Eee, look at my face! It just sums up my sheer joy at wearing this coat! Although, the eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed my sleeves. For the arms do fall short on me, but by wearing a black cardigan underneath, this is easily resolved.

Matching your coat with your lipstick! Always a good move!

I have to say, Bon Marche did good with stocking this coat. It appeals so much to my 60s mod sid
e, whilst also being such a good fit!

And before you ask, yes it does fasten up completely, I am just not one to do my coat up! I'm 30 going on 3!!

I got this coat in a 22, as I knew I wouldn't really want to fasten it, and that was how I wanted the coat to sit, but if I did want to wear anything thicker than a t shirt and cardigan, I would have had to size up. But I don't really wear jumpers so I'm alright on that score!

The lovely Katie from Lady From A Tramp had her Mam review this coat for her here, as pure coincidence!

Much love my lovelies,

Bon Marché David Emanuel Rose Print dress

When I was at the Bon Marché Newcastle Store opening, I was very lucky to also be offered a dress to review from the store. In this post, I explain just how many items I tried on - there were so many to choose from!

After much deliberation, I chose the Rose Print Side Pleat dress from the David Emanuel range:

I didn't actually pick this one up first of all, but the lovely Hannah had it in our changing room, I thought I would give it a go.

I wore it for the office, and didn't have any problems through the day - the cut of the dress means it stays put! I'm rather frustrated with dresses or outfits I have to fuss with. Necklines I have to adjust, skirts I have to pull down, or sleeves I need to keep faffing with.

I also stole (borrowed) the jacket from Hannah's pile of clothes, because I wanted to see how the colours sat together - WOW! Much clash, great match!

While I was prancing about the store (that is the technical term, yes), I bumped into none other than Mr Emanuel himself (Oops!), who approved of the fit and the cut of the dress!

I also came across this lovely lady, who was also rocking the dress, after seeing me prancing about the store!

I'm sure you'll agree, she is an absolute BABE in this dress, and loved my stopping her for her photo. I saw her as she was leaving and she was so happy to have bought the dress!

Much love my lovelies,

Bon Marché: Newcastle Store Opening

When I saw a tweet sent out by Bon Marché, asking if anyone wanted to attend the (revamped) store opening in Newcastle, my heart sank, as I figured I'd still be in Turkey at the time. Thankfully, it was the day after I landed, and I'd already taken the day off work to recover from my jet lag. AHA! It was meant to be!

Jet lagged as anything, I threw on a dress I'd ordered from ASOS before Lent (from Turkey):

So, the gorgeous Hannah and I head off to store on Grainger Street.

We first were welcomed by the impressive window displays:

And there was David Emmanuel, sat in the window signing autographs and making women feel fabulous.

We snuck past, and were greeted with cupcakes (lemon to match my dress, obviously:

One of the things I loved about the store, was that the clothes were spaciously laid out, and you could see most of them from the door way! The changing rooms were easy to access, and spacious! Hannah and I shared the disabled room, which was just as glamourous as the others!

The first dress we tried on was this one:

Which sadly didn't fit my bust, revealing far too much bra. I did add a cami underneath it, but it didn't have the wow factor of here!

Due to the 'issue' with this one, I had guessed that this Paisley print dress would have the same issue:

And it did.

I did rather like this top, but the asymmetrical hem put me off a little

Although this dress close contender to win the dress of the day prize, but something was a little off for me. Still can't quite put my finger on it.

One dress did catch my attention, and I'll be showing you it in more detail in a post or two's time! But here it is teamed with an amazing teal suede effect biker jacket.

All in all, I can recommend taking a look at Bon Marché (pronounced March-ay, not March) you might just be surprised what you come across!

Much love my lovelies,
