Simply Be Printed Peplum

Oh hello!

This printed peplum was a spare top at the Simply Be Denim shoot this week, and they were kind enough to let me keep it!

I would normally pair something like this with a skirt, but I felt the need to mix it up a little bit - perhaps all the denim was rubbing off on me!!

I was super comfortable in my skinny jeans (which I'd had for years), and this top. If I'm being picky, this may be seen by some (my Mam for example) as a little short, as it shows off my VBO, but you know what? That little voice only piped up when I met my Mam that evening - go figure!

This is a size 22, and it fits pretty perfectly all over.

The lovely Steph from Nerd about Town was meant to wear it at the shoot:

Which fits her length wise, a whole lot better, but she wasn't comfortable in it, and who are we to say anything to combat comfort!

I love it as a dress down, casual top, but after seeing this picture from the Simply Be website, I need a pair of wet look legging in my life!

Either that or black cigarette pants! Shame I'm on this spending ban for another 60 odd days!

Much love my lovelies,

Model for a Day

I can't begin to explain my excitement when an email popped into my inbox, inviting me to take part in a Simply Be Bloggers marketing campaign, would I be interested?

The emailed I pinged back over was gushing in it's excitement, and in it's gratitude in being chosen for this exciting campaign.

And so, I packed a number of bags, and headed off to Manchester:

Where I met the lovely Em and Becky in the Hilton, and enjoyed the luxury of a king size bed:

After a night of giggles and putting the world to rights, they trotted off to their room (where fun times happened which I'll leave for them to tell all!), the morning dawned, and we were set for our wonderful day ahead:

After a hearty breakfast, Em, Becky and I met the lovely Hollie and Steph, and made our way to reception to meet Stephanie and Shali with the organiser of the day, Sarah from Simply Be.

We were dispatched at the lovely Plan Pictures studio, where the awesome team were ready and waiting for us, handing out hearty cups of tea, ready to whip our collective hair and make up into shape.

My mother instincts kicked in, and I was on tea making, confidence building duty, which meant I was always losing my place in the queue for the MUA transformation. It also meant my anxious little bundle of energy just kept on building up!!

But boy was the transformation worth it:

Other than a stronger brow, this was perfect :D

I felt amazing, I'd be treated like a model for the full day, and hopefully looked like one in front of the camera too!

It'll be a couple of weeks before the campaign is launched, and a then you will be sick of our faces!!

A big thank you has to go out to the lovely team at Simply Be for putting together a lush team, and a for a red letter day! I'm just trying to work out a way to work in a MUA into my contract in the office :D I jest, I need hair too!

Much love my lovelies,

Wear A Coat As Bright As Your Lipstick

I would like to take you beauts back in time, if I may?

Back to the awesome Plus North 3, in a land far far away (Leeds, but still), where I first encountered this lovely coat, and the saw how the sample size coat fit my dear friend Katie, just made it even more imperative that I owned it!

I was sent the coat by the ace PR team behind Ann Harvey, and it was just a case of finding a good day to wear it.

It's not a winter coat you see, it's an inbetweener kind of a coat. It's lined, which is awesome, but it's also very light weight otherwise.

I first wore it to the wedding rehearsal way back in December:

But felt the cold very much as I was rushing around Durham, so it got shelved a little bit until one of the North East's warmer days last month:

Eee, look at my face! It just sums up my sheer joy at wearing this coat! Although, the eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed my sleeves. For the arms do fall short on me, but by wearing a black cardigan underneath, this is easily resolved.

Matching your coat with your lipstick! Always a good move!

I have to say, Bon Marche did good with stocking this coat. It appeals so much to my 60s mod sid
e, whilst also being such a good fit!

And before you ask, yes it does fasten up completely, I am just not one to do my coat up! I'm 30 going on 3!!

I got this coat in a 22, as I knew I wouldn't really want to fasten it, and that was how I wanted the coat to sit, but if I did want to wear anything thicker than a t shirt and cardigan, I would have had to size up. But I don't really wear jumpers so I'm alright on that score!

The lovely Katie from Lady From A Tramp had her Mam review this coat for her here, as pure coincidence!

Much love my lovelies,
