What is Meow Chat?

Apologies if anyone got an invite from me yesterday to join this latest social platform.

I got an invite through Facebook to join my friend in this chat app.

YAY I thought. Mixing my two favourite things: social media and cats. Perfect. Disclaimer - I'll be sticking with stalking the #catsofinstagram from now on!

So, my tea cooked, the house hoovered, and a load of washing in the machine (all after a days work - where's my halo?!), I sat down to investigate this site.

It seems like a mix of old school 'random' chat rooms of the 1990s "A/S/L?, equal parts with chat roulette for a 'private' chat with a stranger. There seems to be a dash of Instagram included as well, which is interesting (not really, I'll just stick with Instagram!)

Within 5 minutes I had blocked (and reported) two people in my random generated chat room, and was called an ugly sl*g for asking where the cats were.

I'm still wondering where the cats are!

There are cat stickers, but Facebook Messenger has cat stickers.

And that's about it.

In my 10 minutes on there I've left with the opinion 'All marketing, no cats'.

If you did see an invite from me, please ignore. I probably won't be using it again!

Much love my lovelies,

Phone Cases

I have recently been in a position to upgrade my phone, and so, along with all the normal considerations, I also had to think about how I would dress my phone.

Yes, you read that right, I was concerned that as my previous phone had a selection of cases to wear, I didn't want these to no longer have a function, especially as one of them had been over the £20 mark.

Why?

Well, as my phone spends as much time on my desk, in my hand, or on the arm of the chair, as it does anywhere else, I like my phone to be protected, but also look pretty!

I prefer the hard cases, to protect my phone should I drop it (which I do do. A LOT!), and as I like the smooth finish and feel of it in my hand, to the bendy rubber outer shells.

When I was offered a phone case to review, I was keen to make sure it was a hard shell with an interesting print - I wasn't disappointed!

They eagle eyed amongst you may have spotted it at Plus North, or  noticed it on my #ootd which I post daily on Instagram.

I managed to get a China Blue case from here, which made me dream of owning a dress to match it:

It arrived in rather snazzy packaging:

And within seconds it had slipped effortlessly onto my phone:

My lovely white phone sits rather happily in this china blue case, and it is a secure and sturdy method of protecting the lifeline that is my phone!!

It is a wonderful addition to my wardrobe of phone cases, and I am rather taken with the dotty ones available in the Uncommon range, available from Three - especially the turquoise polka dot one!!

It is still quite happy on my phone, and has been for the past week - and to prove it, my #ootd this morning:

So head over to : http://store.apple.com/uk/product/HA094ZM/A/uncommon-deflector-case-for-iphone-4s?fnode=47&p=1 to see if any of their styles fit your phone cover needs.

Much love my lovely,

Cardigan Queen

My outfit posts on Instagram (MissKathryn84) have revealed an unexpected pattern, or even addiction of mine.

I have an obsession with Little Miss Delicious cardigans! So much so, Maxine has coined the moniker of Cardigan Queen.

I started with the red cardigan, little over a year ago:

Then I added the lovely long sleeve cardigan in teal:

Recently though, I was keen to expand my colours into navy.

But my order arrived with a little treat for me.

Maxine was so kind to fashion a custom design for me, on a pale teal short sleeved cardigan.

These have added a sweetness to my outfit choices this summer, one that I've carried over into my necklace choices:

The customer service from Maxine is second to none, keeping me updated on orders, taking an interest in her customers. She adds a personal touch on her social media forms, making it so you can appreciate the time and energy that goes into creating the pieces you order, and the hands that made them. That sounds like an overblown comment to make, but it is true.

And I was truly touched when, on my birthday last week, she posted this picture on her Instagram (lmdelicious):

A montage of my LMD outfit posts over two weeks - a sweet gesture which was a reminder that once you buy from LMD, it's like you're part of the greater LMD family. Again, this sounds like an exaggeration  but it's not.

The cardigans are currently being redesigned, and have been taken down from the website for the moment, but on the old styles, I opted for a 18-20 to sit open, or purely button as a twin set style cardigan at the neck.

Much love, your #cardiganqueen

Marisota Edit

When the lovely people at Marisota asked me to chose an item from the site to review, I was torn between two items:

I had a suspicion that the prom dress would be a great fit and would suit my style of preferred office wear. But, having just taken part in the #psbloggerschat, which that week had been trends. There were a lot of tweets in praise of the peplum and so I went for the Edit Print Peplum dress.

I was so excited when it arrived, my instagram feed was bombarded with images:

The print immediately got a LOT of love and compliments - before I'd even tried it on!

When I did eventually try it on:

It was met with mixed reviews. I was unsure of the fit, wanting to try it with a different bra and to actually put some tights on! The main thought was that the peplum got lost in the print - that if it had been a contrasting block colour, it would have popped out a little bit more. Some thought if the neckline was a little different, it might look better.

I wasn't willing to give up on it that easily:

See, tights and a better bra seemed to have made all the difference!

I went for the size 20, and found the fit perfect. The dress is a mix of 95% polyester and 5% elastane, which made the dress stretch without losing shape or print.

The skirt sits like a tube skirt, with no annoying riding up when walking (a massive pet peeve of mine!), and the peplum moves nicely when stomping around the office!

If it wasn't for the peplum, this dress would make a mighty fine bodycon, so for anyone wanting to try bodycon, but a little self conscious, give this peplum a try for a bit of a taster!

The length is just about knee length on my 5'10 frame - although when sitting down, I did have to pull the skirt over my knees, but with the stretch in the material this wasn't a problem.

I swanned around the office effortlessly in this dress. I didn't have to worry about the belt slipping, or showing too much cleavage. I didn't have to readjust or fidget.

I was complimented a number of times on the vibrant print, on the cut of the dress and the usual backhanded compliment of 'you look slimmer' was rolled out once or twice but that is for a discussion another time.

I did try the dress with a belt, just for laughs and giggles:

And yes, you can see what I think about this from the look on my face! Worth a try though :)

Much love my lovelies,

K x
