Short, Tall, Inbetween and One Dress

Since the last edition of #shorttallinbetween was a bit of a success (check out the other ladies here: EmLeahMeSera), Simply Be asked us to review this great daisy printed baby doll dress:

As this dress only came in one length, I was interested to see how it would sit on my 5'10 frame:

I got the 22, and the fit over my bust (now a 36J), and waist is a perfect fit. The sleeves are a great length for those that like to hide their arms and the skirt flares in a subtle, but flattering way.

When it comes to the length though, see for yourself. I'm perfectly comfortable now walking around the office with this much leg on show (I honestly never thought I'd say that), but due to the dipped hem, my bum is covered - so happy days!

And limited styling needed as the dress says it all. Although I do love it with my biker boots and leather jacket

And it seems like Maggie likes it too!

Short, Tall and In Between...

I was chair dancing away to Short Fat F**ny (I know what Google searches are like...) and I had a bolt of inspiration...

I'd put together a crack pot team of different sizes (about 5 sounded a good number), and we could review petite, standard and tall ranges!

So the hunt was on for my team!

To join me in the world of 'tall', I enlisted the beautiful Em, from @thesmyth, and blogs here.

For my petite beauty, I coerced the bombshell that is Sera, from @sera_McDaid, the pint sized fashionista.

I thought I'd go for 2 'standard' ladies, but there is nothing standard about these two:

The young'un that is Meg, gorgeous @theclosetofmeg, who's 'closet' I would happily get into here!

Last but certainly not least, the wonderfully outspoken and opinionated and beautiful Leah, from @justmeleah_blog, who you can see writes from the heart here.

Now you know the background, what is actually going on here?

Well, I sent over my proposal to the team at Simply Be, and offered to review any of these:

When we were all sent this dress, we were impressed by the print, and rather excited to see how it turns out!

The print really is a perfect winter floral mix!

The sleeve option is a lovely touch, with the option to roll up, and then attach them at the elbow, or have them down for the added winter warmth!

The material is a thin cotton, so it would be perfect with a slouchy cardigan or body warmer on over the top if you were a little on the cool side!!

I ordered the 20 Tall - and was a little apprehensive about the button detail from the neckline to the waist - I'm rather tired of being on button watch to see if any had popped open! But if I'd sized up to the 22, the overall dress would not have been as good a fit. As you can see from the pictures, the gaping is minimal anyway.

Now then, THE LENGTH!

I stand at 5'10, and while I don't mind the odd dress that looks like this:

I am more than happy that this dress sits here:

This photo was taken after a wash, and yes, there was little bit of length lost in shrinkage, but it is still 'respectable' as my Mam would call it!!

It is however, a little low cut - so be aware of that if you're of the busty persuasion!!

I've worn this twice now, and kept it simple - the tie back on the dress does enough to define me in my opinion - and I added the Owl necklace I picked up from Turkey.

Forever Yours

There are times when you see something and wonder: would that work on me? Would this fit my **insert body part here**... And I'll be honest, I thought that about this amazing find of mine from Yours Clothing:

I was curious as to whether this would fit my chest. And if it did, would it sit as well everywhere else.

I was having a rough day, and on a whim, bought it. I fretted about it over the weekend, wondering if it would be leave me a little dejected, or if in fact, it would work.

It is an elegant, and yet cool, dress. It makes me feel as tall as I am, rather than a lanky lass in a too short dress. I love that at 5'9 / 5'10, the dress still sits at my lower calf.

I opted for the 22/24, and on the reflection, I might have got away with a 20, but in this heat, I was happy with the loose fit and flowing skirt to offer some breeze and respite from the heat. If I wanted to, I'm sure I could belt this at the waist, and I am debating on how it will look with a full petticoat underneath.

Due to the classy nature of the dress, I wanted some statement jewelry to make it a little more relevant. I hesitated over my ice cream, Battenburg and 'K' necklaces, but decided on this round leopard print disc necklace from Damart:

I had worn this earlier in the month, but it sat flat on my flesh, and the rope cord did irritate me. However, sitting on the high neck of this dress finished the outfit perfectly, irritation free!

There you have it. My outfit of the day yesterday, with my pretty new dress, and first piece of statement jewelry gifted from Damart.

One pair of shoes - All colours please!

Okay, so a just a quick blog this morning (break = 10 min!) - and I knew when I got to work this morning what that was going to be about:

SHOES!

Now, I've already mentioned that I'm a tall girl - 5'9ish - so when it comes to heels, I try to go on the 2" side of things - no 4" scaffolding for me !! - I also don't wear heels that often, just when the dress / occasion requires it.

However, with these:

I think I'm in shoe heaven! Because I don't wear heels a lot, when I do, my feet hurt. Hurt hurt. But when I slipped my stockinged feet into these this morning, I felt something I've not felt in heels before - comfort! Even now, 3 hours after I put them on, I don't feel them. It's the comfort of wearing flats, with the bonus of a heel!

Enough to say I'm in love!

Looks like my Simply Be account is getting hammered while I buy these up in every colour!!

Much love my lovelies,

K (but 2" taller) x
