Because I'm Happy...

When this tee appeared on the Simply Be website, just as I was about to place an order anyway, I didn't think twice about adding it to my basket.

Once it arrived I threw it on with a pair of jeans, and pottered about the house with it on. I stupidly sized up to a 22, and I really possibly could have got an 18 if I wanted it more fitted, or stuck with a 20 for a loose fit.

As it was, the 22 wasn't so bad:

But I wanted to see if it was a little more versatile - having seen it styled on the Simply Be website like this:

I wanted to see how it looked as an oversized top in a skirt combination.

Instead of going for my usual Collectif skirt, I opted for this from ASOS:

Apologies for the poor picture, I'm house sitting right now and it's the best I have!

This midi skirt is the right colour to highlight the navy writing, and means all the attention is on the top.

I have been in the office for a couple of hours already, and I have people smiling at me, singing Pharell's Happy at me, and generally, being a conversation starter!

What more do you want from a tee?

One thing I will say though, is that this is rather see through, and so my Satine padded bra from Bravissimo is a MUST!

Much love my Happy lovelies,

Because We Want To!

Why do you blog - because I want to.

Why do you wear makeup - because I want to

Why do you eat chocolate - because I want to.

I am a single woman, who is well in her rights to do, quite frankly, what I want to do!

You may have seen some discussions going around about the competition in the blogging community as a whole. And how this may effect the validity of any reviews we write.

My personal view is simple: I blog because I want to. It is as simple as an urge I need to satisfy and bam, a post is written and publish.

What I mean is, I don't blog for the review items, for the event invites or the promise of publicity - I blog because I have some thoughts I wanted to put down, and oddly, you all seem to like reading them!

If you don't like my selfie photos taken with an iPhone camera - front facing one at that sometimes, just don't read - take me off your feed, and it'll make your day a little less angst filled.

Do I wish I had the chance to do a full on photoshoot with a tripod every time? Sometimes, yes. But you know what? A selfis shows the item off just as well as a tripod!!

So, next time you get angst filled, and angry at someone, think if it's someone you care about, and do you want to talk it through with them. Or do you just want to unfollow to see if they notice?

Also, sorry for the ear worm :)

Much love my lovelies,

A Good Night's Sleep

Last year, I was lucky enough to be sent a Ultimate Microfibre with Silk topper for my mattress.

It was sent at a time when I was in between houses (back living at my parents while mine needed further work). So it has taken me a little bit of time (okay, far too long!) to put together the way of showing how the topper added some much needed life into my mattress.

Firstly: what is a topper.

I certainly wasn't sure, but once it arrived, I realised it was ideal for what I was looking for.

I had taken my old mattress (about 10 years old) with me when I moved. It never was a great mattress, but a new one was just out of my range.

Simply put, the topper has extended the life of my mattress!

It hooks over my old, battered mattress, and believe me, doesn't move once it's in place:

The topper easily adds an extra 5cm of comfort!

And it looks no different than a normal mattress!

What is not to love!

And here it is, a made bed.

I'm publishing this from my drafts after a number of months since it was first written, and after a week away on business, I'm missing that topper so much!

Much love my lovelies,

F&F Giveway

Not only did the lovely team at F&F give me the chance to preview the new range here, and review a couple of items, but they also have offered me £25 to give away to one of you lovely lot!

Now, I'm a little jealous, as you can learn from the errors I made when choosing my items and really get the perfect item!

I'd be tempted to try these trousers for a start, after seeing the lovely Becky rock them!

So, what do you have to do? Well, Rafflecopter have made that very easy!

Good luck my lovelies!

Bon Marché David Emanuel Rose Print dress

When I was at the Bon Marché Newcastle Store opening, I was very lucky to also be offered a dress to review from the store. In this post, I explain just how many items I tried on - there were so many to choose from!

After much deliberation, I chose the Rose Print Side Pleat dress from the David Emanuel range:

I didn't actually pick this one up first of all, but the lovely Hannah had it in our changing room, I thought I would give it a go.

I wore it for the office, and didn't have any problems through the day - the cut of the dress means it stays put! I'm rather frustrated with dresses or outfits I have to fuss with. Necklines I have to adjust, skirts I have to pull down, or sleeves I need to keep faffing with.

I also stole (borrowed) the jacket from Hannah's pile of clothes, because I wanted to see how the colours sat together - WOW! Much clash, great match!

While I was prancing about the store (that is the technical term, yes), I bumped into none other than Mr Emanuel himself (Oops!), who approved of the fit and the cut of the dress!

I also came across this lovely lady, who was also rocking the dress, after seeing me prancing about the store!

I'm sure you'll agree, she is an absolute BABE in this dress, and loved my stopping her for her photo. I saw her as she was leaving and she was so happy to have bought the dress!

Much love my lovelies,

Lip Smacking Animal Print from Jeffery and Paula

This Jeffery and Paula Print dress was in the sale on the Simply Be site when I was lonely in Turkey, and I couldn't resist making a little purchase!

The print really intrigued me - a cross between animal print and lipstick prints!

It is that common scratchy polyester fabric, with a simple gather under the bust. I pulled it on in a rush this morning when my first choice did not spark my imagination!

The print leapt from my wardrobe and I knew it was the right choice!

Due to the scoop neckline, it looked very plain without some necklace adornment! So my under used baroque style statement (as statement as I get) necklace came out to play!

I'm wearing with my simple black ballet pumps so I'm comfortable for running about the office.

A simple, but soon to be trusty, outfit I think.

Much love my lovelies,

K x
